A disposable inbox does not ask for your name or phone number. We process only what is required to create an address, receive mail, forward it, and stop abuse.
MXTemp does not sell message contents or account records to advertisers, and we do not build ad-targeting profiles.
You can abandon a temporary address, delete a forwarding alias, turn off 2FA, or write to us to access, correct, or delete account data.
1. Controller and scope
This policy is issued by the MXTemp team that operates mxtemp.com. It covers disposable inboxes, forwarding aliases, the signed-in console, the exposure check, support mail, and logs tied directly to those features. Third-party senders, sites where you register with a temporary address, and tracking pixels inside messages have their own policies. MXTemp cannot control them.
This policy was last updated on 19 August 2026. Using the service means you have read this page. If local law gives you stronger rights, those rights prevail.
2. Information we process
Disposable inboxes
To create an address and show mail we process the generated address and token, envelope fields (from, to, subject), body and HTML, attachment names and sizes, arrival time, delivery status, and the expiry needed for the countdown. We do not require a legal name, phone number, or payment detail first.
Forwarding accounts
For long-lived forwarding we process your login mailbox, one-time-code results, session tokens, aliases you create or pause, the destination mailbox, and about 30 days of forwarding status. If you enable two-factor authentication we store a protected representation of the authenticator secret and its status. Never give a live TOTP code to anyone claiming to be support.
Security and diagnostic logs
To resist abuse and debug failures the system may record request time, an approximate network address, browser type, rate-limit outcomes, error codes, and the resource path. These logs are for safety, not marketing.
Information you send us
Mail to support@mxtemp.com is processed as a support ticket: address, subject, body, and any diagnostics you attach. Do not send passwords, full verification codes, government ID, or unrelated sensitive files.
3. Local storage and similar technology
Your browser keeps the disposable-mailbox token, forwarding session, language preference, and UI state so a refresh can resume work. That data lives mainly on your device. We do not run cross-site advertising cookies and we do not sell browsing history to brokers.
4. Why we process it
| Purpose | Data involved | Why it is needed |
|---|---|---|
| Receive and forward mail | Addresses, messages, aliases, destination mailbox | The action you asked for cannot run without it. |
| Prove control of the account | Login mailbox, codes, 2FA state | Confirms you control the mailbox and reduces takeover risk. |
| Safety and abuse control | Logs, rate limits, error codes | Detects automation, junk floods, and unusual traffic. |
| Support and legal duties | Mail you send us, necessary logs | Answers requests, repairs faults, and meets legal obligations. |
5. Retention and deletion
| Data | Default retention | After deletion |
|---|---|---|
| Temporary address and mail | The short window shown by the countdown (about 3 hours by default, extendable where the product allows) | We do not promise the address or body can be restored. |
| Forwarding aliases and account profile | While the account is active | Deleting an alias stops later forwarding; copies already in your real inbox are outside our control. |
| Forwarding archive | Up to 30 days | It is no longer offered as an online archive. |
| Security logs | A limited operations and dispute window | After rotation they are not used for routine lookup. |
| Support mail | As long as needed to close the case and meet law | Attachments are cleared on the shortest reasonable cycle. |
Law, an active dispute, or abuse prevention may keep a specific record longer than the table. We do not market disposable inboxes as permanent backups.
6. Sharing, processors, and legal requests
We do not sell personal information. Hosting, network, mail delivery, security, and support vendors may process what they need under contract, only for the agreed job. If we receive a valid legal request, or must protect users and the service, we may disclose the minimum required by law and, where allowed, log that request.
7. International processing
Infrastructure may run in more than one jurisdiction. When information moves across borders we use applicable contracts and technical controls (access limits, transport encryption, minimisation). If your local law requires extra safeguards, write to support.
8. Security and honest limits
We use access control, transport protection, abuse monitoring, and least privilege. Internet mail cannot be promised as perfectly confidential: senders, intermediate networks, and the destination mailbox may keep copies. Tracking pixels and outbound links can identify you to third parties. Do not use a disposable inbox for banking, health, identity documents, account recovery, digital assets, or trade secrets.
9. Your rights and how to use them
Depending on applicable law you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port information, or withdraw consent (without undoing lawful processing already done). Write from the mailbox tied to the account to support@mxtemp.com and describe the scope. We may verify control of that mailbox first. Fraud-prevention, legal duties, or disputes can delay deletion of some records. We reply within a reasonable period; complex requests may need more detail.
10. Children
The service is not directed at children below the digital-consent age where you live. If we learn an account is used by someone who does not meet that age, we delete the related disposable address or forwarding account.
11. Automated decisions
Anti-spam and rate limits may automatically block obvious abuse. Those decisions protect infrastructure; they are not credit, employment, or public-benefit profiling. If legitimate mail was blocked, ask support for a review.
12. Changes and contact
Material changes update the date on this page and, when needed, appear in the product. Read the latest version before you continue. Privacy questions: support@mxtemp.com. Do not attach identity documents or full message bodies.
